Angela Lopez

Angela M. Lopez is a shareholder with Cowles & Thompson law firm, where she leads the Immigration practice. Angela has focused on Immigration Law exclusively for 15 years. Her practice represents numerous foreign nationals and their employers, hospitals, healthcare systems, medical providers, university medical centers, physicians, and allied staff. In addition, Angela has represented hundreds of individuals and their families in obtaining legal permanent residence (“green card”), successfully overcoming the challenges of the U.S. immigration system, and keeping families united.

Angela began her career as a Deputy District Attorney and Town Solicitor in Colombia, South America. She later went on to work with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Family Service Officer. She earned a J.D. from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), Colombia, and later completed her Masters in International and Comparative Law (LLM) at the SMU Dedman School of Law. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the International Medical Graduate Taskforce, and is Vice Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Immigration Law Section.
