Corporate Counsel at Dr Pepper Snapple Group
Chasity Henry is a recognized problem-solver with significant experience as a key legal and business advisor. As Corporate Counsel at Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Chasity provides legal guidance to a number of the Company’s integral business functions, including Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, Human Resources, Travel, and Philanthropy. In this role, Chasity manages various transactions for the Company, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
Upon graduation from the University of Texas School of Law, Chasity joined the corporate law firm of Vinson & Elkins, LLP in Dallas. During her time at Vinson & Elkins, Chasity became fascinated with learning her clients’ businesses and helping them to solve issues affecting their businesses both day-to-day and on a broader scale. Chasity worked with clients in various industries, helping them with litigation, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, securities offerings and corporate governance. This experience confirmed Chasity’s desire to work closely with a company and led her to transition to an in-house legal role at Novation, LLC (now Vizient, Inc) prior to her current role at Dr Pepper Snapple Group.
Chasity is a zealous advocate of diversity and inclusion, particularly in the legal profession, both at law firms and in-house legal departments. To that end, Chasity is the founder and President The NEW Roundtable, a nonprofit organization that drives the inclusion and advancement of African-American women attorneys within the legal profession through targeted relationship-building and professional development initiatives. The organization is currently comprised of dozens of members of in-house attorneys working toward partnering with area law firms and corporate legal departments to increase diversity within those organizations.
Chasity was recognized by D Magazine and the Association of Corporate Counsel as the Outstanding In-House Counsel for 2016. Chasity is honored to have received this recognition from her peers and excited to continue to help meet the needs of her clients.
Outside of work, Chasity loves spending time with her husband, Justin, and 2 kids (4 year old daughter Maya and 17 month old son Alex). The family spends most weekends attending kids’ birthday parties and other activities and cheering on the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
