Hilda Galvan

Hilda Galvan is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who focuses on complex intellectual property litigation. For over 20 years, Hilda has represented plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts across the country and in the International Trade Commission. As plaintiff’s counsel, she has represented companies in the enforcement of their patent portfolios, including a semiconductor manufacturer in world-wide litigation against its competitors and a software company in multi-jurisdictional litigation against one of the largest Internet-based retailers. As defendant’s counsel, she has represented companies against allegations of trade secret misappropriation, and patent, copyright and trademark infringement. The depth and breadth of Hilda’s experience in technology and intellectual property law allows her to provide strategic counsel to clients.
She has been identified by IAM magazine as a “powerhouse litigator” and lauded for her “extensive experience in big-ticket patent litigation.” According to Chambers, Hilda is prized by clients for her ability to “bring experience and strategy” to IP disputes arising in the electronics and software sectors.
Hilda is Partner-in-Charge of the Dallas Office of Jones Day and serves on the firm’s Advisory Committee.
Hilda serves the community and non-profit organizations in a variety of ways. She serves as a Trustee of the University of Texas Law School Foundation, a member of the UT Law School Alumni Association, a member of the Executive Committee for the UT Center for Women in the Law, and a member of the Advisory Board, University of Texas El Paso’ Engineering Leadership Program. She currently serves as Chair of the Dallas Regional Chamber and has served on the Executive Committee of the DRC for several years. She is a board member of the Dallas Women’s Foundation and co-chairs the Executive Leadership Committee. She is a board member of the Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation and has served as Chair of Hispanic National Bar Association’s Latina Leadership program. She is board member of WINGs (formerly known as YWCA) and serves on its Promise Campaign Committee. Hilda is on the board of Parkland Hospital Foundation Board, Executive Committee for Circle Ten Boy Scouts of America, Board of the SMU Tate Lecture Series, and Trustee of the Center for American & International Law. She is a Master in the Honorable Barbara MG Lynn American Inns of Court and served as its President. In 2017, in connection with her role as Chair of the DRC, she will serve as a Director of the Dallas Citizens Council, an Ex-Officio Trustee on the Dallas Medical Resource Board and Director of the North Texas Commission.
