Tennessee Nielsen

Assistant General Counsel at Sirius XM Radio Inc.

Tennessee Nielsen joined Sirius XM in March 2015 as assistant general counsel. She provides general legal support for Sirius XM’s rapidly growing connected vehicle business, on both vendor and client contracts, including those focused on technology services.

Tennessee began her legal career in-house with Halliburton, and has held attorney positions with other Dallas-area companies such as STMicroelectronics, Micrografx, and Greyhound. She also served as Of Counsel with the intellectual property group of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. (now Norton Rose Fulbright).

From 2007-2011, Tennessee provided career counseling to the first graduates of the J.D. Evening Program at SMU Dedman School of Law.

Prior to joining Sirius XM, Tennessee was in private practice providing legal services and business consulting to early-stage companies.

Tennessee is licensed to practice in Texas and admitted before U.S. District Court in Northern District of Texas.

Tennessee grew up in Dallas and earned her A.B. in Philosophy from Sweet Briar College and her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law.
