From there, recruited by oil & gas service company Schlumberger as Legal Counsel for Peru, Colombia and Ecuador based in Colombia and after four years promoted to Legal Counsel for Mexico and Central America, based in Mexico City, where oilfield operations are significantly larger. The next role was Senior Compliance Counsel for Latin America based in Rio de Janeiro, facing complex compliance and regulatory challenges across the region and proactively providing compliance risk management. Subsequently, appointed General Counsel for all operations in Latin America, managing a team of more than 50 legal and contracts professionals. The next role within Schlumberger was Global: General Counsel for Research, Engineering & Manufacturing based in Houston for all engineering and manufacturing facilities, with significant exposure to related areas of law such as intellectual property and trade control. Recently, appointed as General Counsel for Valves & Measurement in Houston, also a global role for a product line that was recently acquired by Schlumberger.
