Maria is an attorney. Maria was first licensed in 1989 to practice law in Washington State, where she focused in International Business Transaction cases until 1993.

Between 1994 through 2004, Maria and her husband, Gary Tu, owned Yamamoto Sushi, a wholesale sushi business which supplied to-go sushi to Wholefoods, Kroger’s, Albertson’s, and other supermarkets in the DFW metroplex.

After becoming licensed in Texas in 2004, Maria worked for the Collin County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. In 2005, Maria opened her own law office. Currently, she handles litigation cases involving criminal defense, family law matters and immigration.

Maria is married to Gary Tu, who is a retired sushi chef. Her daughter, Vivianne Tu, is currently in her 4th year at UT Autstin, McComb Business School. The Tu family has lived in Plano, Texas since 1994.
