For over nine years, Megan Verona has served as Vice President, Senior Corporate Counsel at Conduent, a Fortune 500 company that offers diversified business process services with leading capabilities in digital processing, automation, and analytics. She practices exclusively in employment-based immigration law, providing strategic guidance and support to her clients on immigration issues arising during each step of the employment lifecycle.
Megan manages the company’s immigration team and oversees all immigration matters globally. In this capacity, she is responsible for immigration-related compliance, which includes counseling her clients on the immigration impact of M&A deals as well as advising on any I-9 or E-Verify issues. She prides herself not only on delivering responsive, competent, and professional counsel, but especially on being a “lawyer with a heart,” as her clients have described her.
Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law, Megan spent over six years in private practice before migrating in-house. In private practice, she represented companies on an array of business immigration matters in addition to handling family-based and deportation cases, including asylum and VAWA.
Megan obtained her B.S. in Spanish and Education from Vanderbilt University in 1999 and her J.D. from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in 2002. She has studied five languages, is passionate about international travel, and is a dual US-Italian citizen.
A long-time proponent of diversity and inclusion, Megan has participated on the Steering Committee of the Texas Minority Counsel Program. She also served multiple terms on the OGC Diversity Committee, with a focus on promoting diversity in external legal representation and ensuring her company’s commitment to maintaining a diverse workforce.
